colorless crystal or white crystalline powder. Tasteless. d 2. 13. Soluble in 3 parts of water, slightly soluble in ethanol. Weathering in dry air. Water of crystallization was lost when heated to about 160 °c.
oxalic acid dihydrate was dissolved in water and heated to 80 °c. Potassium carbonate was added in portions with stirring until the solution was basic. The solution was filtered and the filtrate was evaporated at 80 °c until crystallization occurred, then cooled to 20 °c and the crystals were filtered off with suction, washed with water and dried to give potassium oxalate.
An Analytical reagent for preventing blood coagulation, pharmaceutical industry, film printing, etc.
